On October 31, 2025, the 40th Anniversary Commemorative Conference and the First Session of the Ninth Membership Congress of the Cold-Formed Steel Branch of the China Steel Structure Association were held at North China University of Technology. The conference was hosted by the Branch and organized by North China University of Technology. Over 100 attendees, including representatives from council member units, enterprises, experts from research institutes, and industry guests from across the country, gathered to review the Branch's four-decade development journey and discuss the industry's future.

In his address, newly appointed Chairman Han Fei stated that the Ninth Council will unite industry forces to drive the sustained development of cold-formed steel. He emphasized that cold-formed steel is advancing toward high strength, precision, and intelligent manufacturing, and the branch will continue to serve as a bridge to promote collaborative innovation within the industry.

At the 40th anniversary conference, Zhang Lifeng, President of North China University of Technology, outlined the university's academic focus in fields such as roll forming technology. He pledged to leverage the institution's strengths to provide talent and innovation support for the industry. Liu Yi, former Executive Vice President of the China Steel Structure Association, highlighted the advantages of cold-formed steel—including lightweight, high strength, energy efficiency, and environmental friendliness—noting the industry's promising prospects. He urged the new council to spearhead technological innovation and strengthen talent development. Former Chairman Han Jingtao and several Vice Chairmen also delivered speeches, reviewing the industry's achievements and calling for a commitment to innovation-driven and green development to propel high-quality transformation within the sector.

At the concurrent academic conference on cutting-edge cold-formed steel technologies, multiple experts delivered invited presentations on industry hot topics including steel demand structure, roll forming simulation, high-strength steel applications, and intelligent manufacturing, showcasing the latest advancements in the cold-formed steel sector.

This conference systematically summarized four decades of development achievements in the cold-formed steel industry, injecting new momentum into deepening collaboration among industry, academia, research, and application while advancing the sector's high-end, green, and intelligent development.
