Recently, Shandong Iron and Steel Group's Section Steel Plant successfully rolled the 286×198 H-beam—the most technically challenging and thinnest specification within the national standard H300×200 series—in a single trial run on its medium-sized production line, achieving a significant breakthrough in the product's R&D field.

This H-beam specification was specially customized to meet customer requirements. Due to its unique cross-section, thin flanges, and narrow web, it demands extremely high precision in rolling force control, temperature uniformity, and die design, making it the most challenging to produce within the series. Process engineers systematically optimized the production flow, continuously refined key process parameters and equipment precision, and established precise dimensional control standards to formulate a comprehensive rolling plan. Throughout the trial rolling, all stages were precisely controlled, with the product meeting standard requirements for dimensional accuracy, surface quality, and mechanical properties.

The successful development of this product significantly enhances Shandong Iron and Steel's competitiveness in the light steel structure market and provides robust support for expanding into high-end building materials and machinery manufacturing sectors.

During the same period, Shandong Iron and Steel Group's Section Steel Plant successfully conducted trial rolling of HE700M high-strength, ultra-thick European standard H-beams on its large-scale production line, achieving mass production. Characterized by large cross-sectional dimensions and high yield strength, this product finds extensive application in critical sectors such as high-rise buildings and industrial facilities.

The technical team enhanced product forming quality by optimizing the setting of the roll gap and the distribution of reduction, precisely matching the extension coefficients of the flanges and web. To date, over 4,000 tons of this product have been successfully produced in batches, with both performance and dimensional accuracy meeting customer requirements.
