Recently, Jingye Yingkou Medium Plate received an order for extra-thick and extra-wide EH40 and successfully put it into mass production. The order requires delivery in TMCP status and has strict production process control requirements, which is a severe test for both steelmaking and rolling.
Before the production of the products, the product development team of Yingkou Medium Plate conducted special discussions with relevant production units and formulated detailed plans for each production link. In the billet preparation stage, the team strictly implemented the surface cleaning and quality screening system before delivery to ensure that the surface quality of the billets met the standards; in the steel rolling process, the rolling process was optimized to effectively promote grain refinement, and the ultra-fast cooling technology of solidified water cooling parameters was used to ensure the cooling uniformity of the steel plate throughout the thickness direction. After collaborative efforts by multiple departments, Yingkou Medium Plate successfully completed the development of EH40 high-strength ship plates with extra-thick and extra-wide specifications of 85*4080mm. The steel plate performance qualification rate was 100%, and the physical performance was excellent. The average yield strength reached 440MPa, the average tensile strength was 565MPa, and the impact energy at -40℃ was 305J. The performance indicators far exceeded the standard requirements.
The successful development of the extra-thick and extra-wide EH40 high-strength ship plate marks a new breakthrough for Yingkou Medium Plate in the field of TMCP high-strength ship plate manufacturing, and has accumulated valuable experience for the subsequent development of similar high-end ship plate products.
