The national import and export commodity volume data released by the General Administration of Customs on September 13 showed that China exported 10.465 million tons of steel in September 2025, an increase of 955,000 tons from the previous month, a month-on-month increase of 10.0%. Cumulative steel exports from January to September totaled 87.955 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 9.2%.

In September, my country imported 548,000 tons of steel, an increase of 48,000 tons from the previous month, a month-on-month increase of 9.6%. Cumulative steel imports from January to September totaled 4.532 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 12.6%.

In September, my country imported 116.326 million tons of iron ore and its concentrates, an increase of 11.101 million tons from the previous month, a month-on-month increase of 10.5%. From January to September, China imported 917.685 million tons of iron ore and concentrates, a year-on-year decrease of 0.1%.

In September, China imported 46.003 million tons of coal and lignite, an increase of 3.266 million tons from the previous month, a month-on-month increase of 7.6%. The cumulative imports of coal and lignite from January to September were 345.885 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 11.1%.
