The national import and export commodity volume data released by the General Administration of Customs on August 7 showed that China exported 9.836 million tons of steel in July 2025, an increase of 156,000 tons from the previous month, a month-on-month increase of 1.6%. From January to July, the cumulative export of steel products reached 67.983 million tons, an increase of 11.4% year-on-year.

In July, my country imported 452,000 tons of steel, a decrease of 18,000 tons from the previous month, a decrease of 3.8%; the cumulative steel imports from January to July were 3.476 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 15.7%.

In July, my country imported 104.623 million tons of iron ore and its concentrates, a decrease of 1.327 million tons from the previous month, a decrease of 1.3%. From January to July, China imported 696.569 million tons of iron ore and its concentrates, a year-on-year decrease of 2.3%.

In July, China imported 35.609 million tons of coal and lignite, up 2.569 million tons from the previous month and 7.8% month-on-month; the cumulative imports of coal and lignite from January to July were 257.305 million tons, down 13.0% year-on-year.
