On September 28, the 2,500 cubic meter HyCROF (Hydrogen-enriched Carbonic oxide Recycling Oxygenate Furnace) commercial demonstration project of Bayi Iron and Steel’s low-carbon metallurgy was officially put into operation. The commissioning of this project marks that Baowu's low-carbon metallurgical technology research and development has fully entered the commercial operation stage, which will lay the foundation for the low-carbon, efficient, low-cost, and high-quality development of Bayi Iron and Steel. The project is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by nearly 1 million tons annually, which is equivalent to recreating a 1,000-square-kilometer forest in Xinjiang. Its operation also marks a breakthrough for Baowu in building a source of industrial green and low-carbon original technologies.
