The larger the diameter of the round bar, the more difficult it is to control its external shape, dimensional accuracy and surface quality. In response to this, the Steel Rolling Plant worked together with the Production Technology Department and the Steelmaking Plant to conduct in-depth research and develop a detailed trial rolling plan. They also repeatedly calculated parameters such as roll pass, mill gap, rolling speed, and compression ratio to determine key rolling process points in advance.
“If you want to do your work well, you must first sharpen your tools.” To ensure a smooth rolling process, the bar production line carried out a comprehensive inspection and maintenance of related equipment. Workers in the production preparation group carefully check the status of the roller motor and guide rollers; workers in the electrical repair area repeatedly test the newly written rolling program; workers in the maintenance area conduct detailed inspection and debugging of equipment such as reducers, universal joints, and conveyor rollers; workers in the long product finishing area do not miss any minor defects in the finished product baling machine.
During the trial rolling process, all parties took lean production as the main line, paid close attention to the operation of on-site equipment, and strictly controlled the technical parameters of each key point. The heating worker closely monitors the temperature of the steel billet in and out of the furnace and the heating time to ensure that the mechanical properties of the steel billet meet the standards; the rolling worker carefully observes the biting status of the steel billet in the rolling mill, and carefully checks the shape and size of the red billet by scratching to ensure that the external dimensions are qualified; the main control worker closely monitors the tensile tension of the steel billet between each rolling mill, and adjusts the speed and gap of the rollers at any time to ensure the stability and continuity of rolling; the inspection worker carefully observes and measures the surface quality and dimensional accuracy of the finished product, and takes samples for top forging tests in time; the technical engineer tracks the entire process, supervises the process execution, and keeps a close eye on every operation detail to ensure that the product's appearance quality, internal structure, physical properties, etc. meet national standards and meet technical requirements.
