【Exhibition Introduction】

The Bangladesh International Metallurgy, Foundry, and Steel Exhibition (METAL EXPO 2025) will take place from November 20 to 22, 2025, at ICCB in Dhaka, Bangladesh. This international exhibition is jointly organized by the Bangladesh Engineers Industrial Owners Association (BEIOA) and supported by the Foundry Owners Association of Bangladesh (FOAB). In 2022, the global steel market was valued at $1,599.4 billion and is projected to reach $1,928.6 billion by 2027, growing at a CAGR of 3.8% during the forecast period. From 2022 to 2027, the steel industry experienced rapid growth in the early 1990s due to investments by private entrepreneurs. The sector now thrives primarily through investments in large conglomerates, product diversification, and production transformation. According to the World Steel Association, Bangladesh produced 5.2 million metric tons of steel in 2022, with net imports of steel consumption dropping to 2.2 million metric tons. This indicates the country's steel consumption stands at approximately 7.4 million metric tons. Data from The Business Standard suggests factory capacity expansion is expected to accelerate, with projections indicating an increase to 13 million metric tons by 2025. Currently, Bangladesh's steel industry is valued at 55 trillion Bangladeshi Taka (US$6.2 billion), with per capita steel consumption projected to rise from 45 kilograms in 2022 to 100 kilograms by 2030. Production capacity is experiencing a sharp increase as demand grows at an annual rate of 10%.
