On April 1, Mn13 high manganese wear-resistant steel hot-rolled plates with thickness specifications of 6 to 20 mm rolled off the 150-ton converter-steckel mill production line of Anyang Steel's Second Melting and Rolling Operation Department. This is the first time that the operation department has mass-smelted and rolled this series of steel grades after the initial trial production, marking another solid step forward in the full-process special steel production of the operation department.
High manganese wear-resistant steel has high tensile strength, plasticity, toughness and non-magnetic properties. It is often used for wear-resistant parts in electronic, medical, petrochemical, machinery manufacturing and other equipment. It has become an inevitable development trend in the selection of new generation wear-resistant steel. In order to ensure the smooth batch production of Mn13 high manganese wear-resistant steel, the Second Melting and Rolling Operation Department combined the previous production experience, held several production preparation meetings, systematically analyzed the current problems, and optimized and upgraded the equipment, process, and operation.
In order to solve the problem of long steelmaking production cycle, the operation department has significantly reduced the steelmaking production cycle by raising the final temperature of the converter, increasing the amount of alloy added in the argon station, adjusting the smelting process route and other measures; in order to solve the problem of poor heat transfer and large shrinkage of this type of steel, which affects the stability of continuous casting production, the operation department actively adopts weak cooling control, reasonably controls the casting machine pulling speed, reduces the shrinkage of the billet shell in the fan-shaped section, eliminates the fluctuation of the liquid level in the crystallizer, and realizes the stable and smooth production of the casting machine; in order to solve the problems of middle longitudinal cracks and rolling delamination that are prone to occur during the rolling process of the furnace coil unit, the operation department fully taps the rolling capacity limit, confirms the equipment working conditions in advance, improves the equipment functional accuracy, optimizes the laminar cooling system, and accurately controls the slab temperature, finally realizing the smooth mass production of Mn13 high manganese wear-resistant steel.
