Recently, Shandong Steel successfully passed the IATF16949 quality management system surveillance audit, marking that Shandong Steel's standardization and normalization level of quality management in the automotive industry has reached the industry requirements, injecting strong momentum into its in-depth cultivation of the automotive supply chain and the creation of a core brand of high-end automotive steel.
As one of the highest quality management system standards recognized in the global automotive industry, the surveillance audit of IATF 16949 certification is not only a comprehensive test of the effectiveness of a company's quality system operation, but also an important benchmark for measuring a company's continued compliance with international automotive supply chain access qualifications.
This audit, conducted by an expert team from LRQA Group Limited, lasted four days. The audit team strictly adhered to IATF 16949 standards, customer-specific requirements, and company system documents. Through on-site verification, process traceability, document review, and personnel interviews, they comprehensively reviewed key aspects of the special steel production line, including order acceptance for automotive steel, product development, manufacturing process control, and supply chain management. The audit team fully affirmed the continuous and effective operation of Shandong Steel's quality management system and highly praised the application level of quality tools and the effectiveness of improved quality risk awareness.
In recent years, Shandong Steel has focused on the deep integration of the IATF 16949 system with its consistent quality management system, striving to improve product quality, customer service, and system control. In 2025, Shandong Iron & Steel Co., Ltd.'s overall yield rate increased by 0.07 percentage points compared to the plan, and the scrap rate decreased by 0.05 percentage points compared to the plan; it also completed 15 second-party certifications and 23 third-party product certifications throughout the year.
