Recently, Pangang Group's domestically pioneered 850MPa-grade hot-rolled automotive beam steel successfully passed a series of professional certifications including roll forming, punching, and bending tests. It has been successfully applied in a commercial vehicle model of a renowned automaker, demonstrating excellent performance in practical use. This milestone marks the product's official market entry and realization of mass application.
Automotive beam steel is primarily used in manufacturing structural components such as chassis longitudinal beams, subframes, cross members, and front/rear axles. Its comprehensive properties directly impact vehicle safety and service life. Currently, mainstream hot-rolled automotive beam steel on the market typically ranges from 600 to 750 MPa in strength. To meet the automotive industry's rapidly evolving demands for enhanced material performance, Pangang initiated the development of ultra-high-strength hot-rolled automotive beam steel.
Leveraging extensive technical expertise in titanium microalloyed steels, the project team innovatively proposed a titanium-containing composite microalloying process. This led to the successful development of the 850L ultra-high-strength beam steel, featuring an average tensile strength of 890 MPa alongside excellent elongation and cold-bending properties. This product fully meets user demands for both high strength and high toughness/ductility.
Looking ahead, Pangang will continue to deepen R&D in titanium microalloying technology, committed to launching a series of hot-rolled automotive beam steels with even more outstanding comprehensive performance.
