LY STEEL supplies materials for China's first three-dimensional offshore photovoltaic project

04/07/2024 From:LY STEEL

Photovoltaic power, the second largest power source in China, had a cumulative installed capacity of 670 million kilowatts as of April this year, accounting for more than 22% of the total installed power capacity. Entering 2024, drawing on the experience of offshore wind power, offshore photovoltaic power has pressed the accelerator.
Recently, LY STEEL won an order for high corrosion-resistant weathering steel for the 850,000-kilowatt photovoltaic power generation project in Binzhou, Shandong. It is reported that this project is the first and currently the only photovoltaic project using the sea approved by the State Council in 2024.

The project is located in Binhai Town, Zhanhua District, Binzhou City. During construction, photovoltaic panels need to be installed on the surface of saline-alkali tidal flats, while taking into account marine aquaculture. Therefore, the material requirements for photovoltaic brackets are quite strict. The steel must not only have high corrosion resistance in C4 and above environments but also be pollution-free to water quality.
According to public media reports, after the completion of the project, it can provide 1.282 billion kWh of green and clean electricity every year.
LY STEEL attaches great importance to the construction of this project. After fully understanding the needs, the company's sales department and the Iron and Steel Research Institute (Technical Center) carefully surveyed the project site environment, actively followed up the project progress, and relied on strong technical research and development capabilities and excellent high-strength weathering steel supply capabilities to win trust, and finally obtained a batch of green high-corrosion-resistant weathering steel orders for the project.
This successful bid has allowed LY STEEL to once again stand up as the "steel backbone" of Hunan manufacturing, which will create greater environmental and social benefits and contribute to the country's green and sustainable development.
