This steel grade possesses high strength, excellent weldability, corrosion resistance, and low-temperature impact toughness, and is widely used in oil and gas pipelines, marine engineering, and construction engineering.
The rolling challenge lies in achieving excellent low-temperature impact toughness while ensuring high strength. To achieve the target performance, it is necessary to ensure that the alloying elements are fully dissolved to obtain the ideal original austenite grain size, and to precisely control key process parameters such as heating time, rolling temperature, finishing mill inlet temperature (not higher than 1050℃), laminar cooling rate, and low-temperature coiling.
To ensure the smooth progress of rolling, the hot-rolled coil division held a special preparatory meeting in advance to discuss the key points of process control one by one and formulate a process temperature plan suitable for the rolling line. At the same time, the process water between the stands was treated in advance to ensure that the water quality met the process requirements, which effectively guaranteed the stability of the rolled plate shape and laid a solid foundation for the successful trial rolling.
