In the first half of 2026, stainless steel crude steel production increased by 5% year-over-year.

Recently, the World Stainless Steel Association released data on stainless steel crude steel production for the first half of 2026. The data shows that stainless steel crude steel production in the first half of 2026 totaled 33 million metric tons, a 5% increase year-over-year.

Asia’s stainless steel crude steel production totaled 28.3 million metric tons, up 6.1% year-over-year; the European Union’s production was 2.9 million metric tons, down 3.7% year-over-year; the United States’ production was 1.1 million metric tons, up 2.3% year-over-year; and output in other countries was 0.6 million metric tons, up 2.9% year-over-year.
