Recently, Echeng Iron and Steel successfully developed the EH40Z35 high-strength ship plate. In addition, the product has been certified by the China Classification Society (CCS). This product's successful trial production and certification have enabled Egang's TMCP high-strength ship plate to achieve full coverage of strength levels.

In order to cope with fierce market competition, Egang focuses on high-strength, high-corrosion-resistant, and high-performance fine materials, optimizes the product structure, continuously improves the research and development and manufacturing capabilities of thick plates, actively promotes the high-endization of products, and creates more regional market advantage products.

EH40Z35 is the ship plate with the highest strength grade among high-strength ship plates, with a maximum thickness of 75mm. It has the advantages of high strength, impact resistance, good plastic processing, and welding performance. It can be used to construct ocean-going ships, drilling platforms in high-cold waters, deep-sea drilling platforms, and offshore wind power equipment.

In order to meet the high requirements of EH40Z35 for low-temperature impact toughness and welding performance, Egang has specially established a wide plate R&D project team. Based on the 36kg-grade high-strength ship plate, the team optimized the composition and process design and expanded the trial steel plate thickness from 50mm to 75mm. During the trial production tracking process, the project team adjusted the process parameters according to the steel plate shape and equipment load, and finally successfully trial-produced qualified steel plates in one go. During the performance inspection process, the project team completed the steel plate test according to the requirements of the type test outline and successfully passed the China Classification Society certification.
