Benxi Steel Group successfully develops steel for gas storage support structures in new energy commercial vehicles

Benxi Steel Group recently announced that its independently developed BR780NP steel for the storage tank support structure of new energy commercial vehicles has achieved industrial-scale production. This hot-rolled thin-gauge high-strength steel, which employs nano-precipitation strengthening technology, has completed its first batch of deliveries and received positive feedback from customers.
Against the backdrop of the global automotive industry accelerating the synergistic development of “lightweighting” and “safety,” Benxi Steel Group has actively expanded into the field of new energy vehicle materials. The newly developed BR780NP steel is specifically designed for the storage tank support structures of new energy commercial vehicles, significantly reducing vehicle weight while ensuring safety, thereby demonstrating strong market competitiveness.
To overcome technical challenges such as complex material forming and high strength and toughness requirements, Benxi Steel Group's technical team conducted in-depth analyses of customer usage scenarios. Through innovative alloy composition ratios, precise control of material microstructure and nano-precipitation phase distribution, and full utilization of the advantages of the 2300 hot-rolled mill in producing thin-gauge high-strength steel, the company achieved stable mass production of the product and established core corporate technology.
