Recently, Shougang Jingtang and Shougang International successfully delivered 28-meter-long ultra-long wind turbine steel, produced in collaboration, to a customer in Southeast Asia, marking Shougang’s first entry into the Southeast Asian market with ultra-long wind turbine steel. The individual pieces in this batch reached a maximum length of 28 meters, far exceeding conventional specifications, and the customer imposed stringent requirements on performance and surface quality. Shougang Jingtang formed a dedicated team, optimized the process plan, and overcame technical challenges such as shape control and surface quality during the rolling of ultra-long slabs. Through strict control throughout the entire production process, the company ensured that all product specifications met the required standards.

To address the challenges of transporting extra-long steel plates, Shougang Jingtang has partnered with Shougang International to establish a coordinated mechanism for production, sales, and transportation. Through on-site surveys, they have optimized land transport routes to resolve issues such as detours caused by road construction and limited turning radii. At the same time, they have evaluated and selected ports and customized specialized vessels with cargo holds wider than 25 meters. This approach effectively prevents damage to the plates while strictly controlling logistics costs, ensuring both quality and efficiency.

This export not only provided hands-on experience across the entire supply chain—from production to maritime transport—for ultra-long wind turbine steel, but also expanded the range of high-value-added products. Moreover, it demonstrated Shougang’s technical capabilities in high-end medium- and heavy-gauge plates and the synergies within its industrial chain. As Shougang’s fourth-largest strategic product, the successful delivery of this order has further expanded the company’s overseas market footprint, serving as a practical model for domestic steel enterprises seeking to develop exports of steel for new energy applications and contribute to global low-carbon development.
