Fujian Sangang Group Successfully Produces Q1215 Free-Cutting Steel for the First Time

Recently, Sangang Group successfully produced Q1215 free-cutting steel for the first time, marking a significant step forward in the company's product diversification efforts.

Q1215 free-cutting steel is a carbon structural steel designed for machining. It is suitable for manufacturing components requiring high dimensional accuracy and surface finish but subjected to low stress levels. Its applications span diverse fields, including instrumentation, watch components, and standard parts such as gears, shafts, and bolts in automobiles and machine tools. It is also suitable for plastic molding dies and surgical/dental instruments in the medical sector.

To ensure smooth production of this steel grade, the Long Products Division's converter and continuous casting operations meticulously organized process research and operational training, developing an optimized production plan. During trial production, all processes worked in close coordination. Technical personnel monitored the entire process, strictly adhered to the converter and refining process routes and quality control points, and continuously optimized the continuous casting process. Through precise control of key aspects such as ladle management and cooling systems, as well as strict standardized regulation of overheating and billet pulling speed, the internal quality and surface formation of the cast billets were effectively ensured. Ultimately, the product quality fully met the control requirements.
