Weathering steel plate is a group of alloy steels which, after several years of exposure outdoors, form a relatively dense rust layer on the surface and therefore do not need to be protected by painting. The trade name for weathering steel plate is "COR-TEN", which is an abbreviation for "Corrosion resistance" and "Tensile strength. Weathering steel plate is also known by this name and is therefore often referred to as "Corten Steel". Furthermore, the rust of weathering steel plate is uniform and dense, and it adheres to the surface of the steel to protect it.
