The density of stainless steel depends on the chemical composition: chromium stainless steel is 7.75, chromium-nickel stainless steel: is 7.93, and common stainless steel: for example, 304, and 316 belong to chromium-nickel stainless steel. The density of carbon steel is slightly higher than that of ferrite and martensitic stainless steel, but somewhat lower than that of austenitic stainless steel.
