Both 3PP and 3PE belong to multi-layer coating systems, consisting of a bottom layer of epoxy powder, an intermediate layer of adhesive, and an outer layer of PP (polypropylene) and PE (polyethylene). The processing methods are similar, and they can be produced using the same production line. However, the inherent differences in properties between PP and PE materials result in different performance characteristics for 3PP and 3PE coatings, making them suitable for different environments. The advantages of 3PP coating in certain performance aspects enable it to function in areas where 3PE coating is not applicable. Therefore, many pipeline projects abroad have adopted 3PP anti-corrosion coatings. Currently, the main products available are from overseas, targeting countries with higher ambient temperatures. PP is also harder than PE, which helps prevent scratches on the coating.
