1. Use Potions to Test Materials
First of all, special attention should be paid: Color steel is not colored stainless steel. Color steel refers to color-coated steel plates, which are steel plates with organic coatings. The price is cheaper than stainless steel color plates, but the service life of color steel is only about 3 years, while the service life of stainless steel color plates is longer!
At present, the most commonly used materials for stainless steel color plates in the market are 201, 304, and 316. Among them, the corrosion resistance is also stronger than 201 for 304, and 316 is stronger than 304! When purchasing, you can use potions or spectral analysis to distinguish!
2. Surface Coloring Process
Water plating coloring process: Water plating coloring only uses chemical potions to soak to get the color. Compared with vacuum ion plating, the color is not so pure, and the phenomenon of peeling will appear, which gives people the feeling that it is just sprayed on! And it will produce waste pollution, but the price is much cheaper than vacuum plating.
Vacuum plating coloring process: The vacuum plating film layer has a greater bonding force with the surface of the workpiece, the film layer has a higher hardness, better wear resistance, and corrosion resistance, and the performance of the film layer is more stable! No toxic or polluting substances will be produced!
3. Observe the Metal Surface
When inspecting the goods, you need to carefully inspect and observe the surface to see if there is a color difference, whether the coloring is uniform, whether the color is good, and whether there are scratches, sand holes, peeling watermarks, and other defects. Especially for titanium plates, the surface has a mirror effect. If the quality is good, the surface should be free of grinding head flowers and horseshoe marks, and the brightness is high!
4. The Quality of the Film
After the color stainless steel plate is processed, a protective film should be attached to the surface. This film can ensure that the surface finish is not polluted, or prevent scratches from hard objects. However, if the protective film of poor quality is placed for a long time, it will become powdery and difficult to tear off. After tearing it off, there will be a lot of glue on the surface, which is not only ugly but also difficult to clean!
When inspecting the goods, you can tear off a larger area to see the quality of the film; after the project installation (especially outdoor decoration and renovation projects) is completed, it is best to tear off the film immediately!

201 and 304 can be distinguished by testing potions, while genuine materials and rolled materials are mainly distinguished by observing the quality of the plate surface. The surface of the genuine material plate is smooth and flat, the color is uniform, the brightness is high, and the thickness of the whole plate is consistent, while the surface of the rolled material plate is darker, the color is uneven, and there are often black or stripes, roller stamping on the back, many sand holes, peeling watermarks, and other defects, and the thickness difference of the plate surface can reach 2 to 3 silks.
However, with the improvement of production technology and the technology of many large calendering plants, the gap between genuine materials and calendered materials is slowly narrowing. Some imitation genuine materials can even be mistaken for genuine ones, and it takes experienced professionals to distinguish them.

2. Visual effect:
Colored stainless steel plates are mainly used in the field of decoration, and the ornamental and decorative properties of the plate surface are very high. Good-colored stainless steel plates should have no color difference visible to the naked eye under direct sunlight, no color difference in the whole batch of plates, uniform coloring, good color, no scratches, bends, and no fading. The surface of the stainless steel mirror plate should have no grinding head flowers and horseshoe marks, and high brightness.

3. Peeling the film:
Colored stainless steel plates will be affixed with a layer of protective film before leaving the factory. Many unsalable plates have been stored in the warehouse for a long time, and the protective film has become powdery and difficult to tear, or after tearing, there is still a lot of glue on the surface of the plate, which is ugly and difficult to remove, and time-consuming and labor-intensive.
Even if it is a transparent film, everyone must tear off a large piece to see the quality of the film when inspecting the goods. If you need to cut, bend, and shape it later, it is best to apply a protective film of 6C or above to avoid scratching the board surface.
After the colored stainless steel plate is installed, the film layer should be torn off as soon as possible to avoid glue. Especially for outdoor decoration, due to direct sunlight, it is best to tear off the protective film immediately after construction.
