Hengyang Steel's Seamless Steel Pipes Enable Major Breakthrough in National Clean Power Generation Technology

Recently, the world's first 660-megawatt ultra-supercritical circulating fluidized bed boiler successfully passed its one-year safety operation assessment and authoritative technical appraisal. This unit fills a global industry gap, marking a significant technological leap for China in clean coal-fired power generation. As the key material supplier for this project, Hunan Iron and Steel Group's Hengyang Iron and Steel provided high-performance seamless steel pipes in bulk, offering robust support for the boiler to achieve ultra-high parameters, ultra-low emissions, and ultra-low energy consumption targets.

Developed independently by Harbin Boiler Works, the boiler demanded stringent material performance for critical components to achieve internationally leading overall technical specifications. Beyond exceptional high-temperature and high-pressure resistance, the seamless steel pipes required dimensional accuracy exceeding national standards. Leveraging its accumulated technical expertise and brand strength in energy-grade piping over the years, Hengyang Steel successfully secured contracts for multiple critical specifications and delivered them on schedule while ensuring quality. The supplied seamless steel pipes can operate stably for extended periods under extreme conditions exceeding 600°C and 29 MPa, effectively safeguarding the unit's safe and efficient operation.
