Baosteel’s First Mass-Produced and Supplied Low Carbon Steel Officially Rolled Off the Production Line

On March 27, China's first mass-produced and supplied low-carbon emission automotive sheet product, and the first roll of low-carbon steel (BeyondECO^®-30%) supplied by Baosteel, officially rolled off the production line in Shanghai! This was also the site where Baosteel's 15 million tons of automotive sheet rolled off the production line 17 years ago. This is the first roll of electro-galvanized low-carbon steel (BeyondECO^®-30%) in the cooperation project between Baosteel and Beijing Benz to jointly build a low-carbon green steel supply chain. It is an important milestone since the two parties signed the "Memorandum of Cooperation on Building Green Steel Supply Chain" on November 22, 2022, marking a solid step for Baosteel in implementing the above-mentioned memorandum and cooperation projects. The first coil of electro-galvanized low-carbon steel (BeyondECO^®-30%) that Baosteel mass-produced and supplied strictly complied with relevant carbon reduction measures and production process routes, and the coil of electro-galvanized low-carbon steel was initially calculated by Baosteel’s product carbon management professional team that the carbon reduction strength of this electro-galvanized low-carbon steel coil is more than 30% lower than that of the steel coil produced by the non-carbon reduction route of the original part, and Baosteel's internal evaluation of steel coil quality and other key indicators have all met the requirements of the target parts.
